Version 6.1.2 - Important Bug Fix

  • Several bugs that caused the (background) Timer agent to rev up to a 100% busy state and increase memory usage steadily upon a daylight saving time shift were fixed. As this is a serious bug, all users should upgrade to this latest version as soon as possible. NOTE: This bug only showed up when users chose the minutes (either custom or not) repeat option.

Version 6.1 - New Features and Bug Fixes

  • Scheduler and most of its helpers can now run as 64-bit applications (the only exception being the helper that plays QuickTime legacy media)
  • Scheduler now uses the latest Apple technologies to record and play alert sounds
  • A few bugs on the Sound Manager, particularly those affecting the recording of sounds, have been fixed
  • An annoying feature of earlier versions was changed: now Scheduler will only warn about how to register the product upon the first two runs instead of the first 25 runs.
  • At a user's request, the custom repeat option was enhanced: you can now choose to repeat your event any number of minutes, hours, days, weeks, months or years and the end ("until") date is now optional
  • Several scheduling bugs have been fixed
  • Deleting, duplicating and renaming events on the result of a search for events are now updated immediately on the Schedule Manager window
  • A bug that triggered a crash when the user searched an event using the "alert text" option has been fixed

  • A bug causing the background app Timer to rev up to a 100% busy state and increase its allocated memory steadily when the user chose the repeat option "every hour" has been fixed
  • Yet another bug preventing the proper display of due time of groups has been fixed
  • A bug preventing the proper sorting of children events upon group expansion has been fixed

  • The reliability of the proper launching of the background helper applications SchLoginItem and Timer, which carry out the scheduling of events for Scheduler, has been improved
  • A bug preventing the proper execution of alert warnings upon waking up a computer has been fixed
  • A bug preventing the, reordering, dragging and dropping of events on the Schedule Manager window on Lion (10.7) has been fixed
  • The help page on how to schedule scripts has been updated to correct a wrong statement and add text explaining how to target a specific routine inside an Applescript

  • The main windows will no longer appear on the bottom left of the screen, but rather at the center of the screen, during the app's first run
  • Tool tips of how to use the Hotkeys Manager have been added
  • Two bugs that could cause an app hang or crash on some occasions during the application startup have been fixed
  • A bug causing the delete menu item to be enabled when there was no item selected on the Schedule Manager, which could cause a hang, has been fixed
  • A bug causing the display of clipped alert text has been fixed

Version 6.0.0 - New Features and Bug Fixes

  • Beta status has been removed - this is the final release of version 6.0.0.
  • Help files have been added to the Help menu.
  • Exporting events by dragging and dropping them onto the Finder has been implemented.
  • Parent groups of events now reflect the activity status of their children events on the Schedule Manager window
  • Clicking on the activity status of a parent group of events will now set the active status of their children events as well
  • The time range scheduling option is now disabled if it is one-shot event, as this option only makes sense for repeating events
  • A bug causing a crash when user tried to execute a group of events with the button Go on the Schedule Manager window has been fixed.
  • A bug preventing proper importation by dragging and dropping of a hierarchy of folders and event files onto the Schedule Manager has been fixed.
  • A bug preventing the proper setup of the custom warn sheet of an alert has been fixed (the checkboxes would always appear unchecked even if you had checked them on previously).
  • A bug preventing the proper saving of a custom warn option of an alert when user did not invoke the custom warn sheet has been fixed.
  • A bug preventing the execution of alert warnings if they were scheduled one or more days before the due date has been fixed.
  • A bug preventing the proper expansion of items on the Schedule Manager window when user toggled between hiearchical and list modes using the View menu or the respective key combinations has been fixed.
  • The due time of active parent items is now refelected correctly on the Schedule Manager window.
Known issues:
  • Overlapping events on a given date and time are not drawn properly on the Schedule Manager window in day or week view. This bug will be fixed when these views are enhanced in future versions.
  • On some occasions, Scheduler may stop triggering events if the user registers after letting the trial period expire. If that happens, please restart your computer to fix this problem.
  • Several menu items are always dimmed, as these are planned new features that have not been implemented as yet.

  • You can now import events by dragging and dropping them onto Schedule Manager window
  • Tool tips explaining the deferred (execution of taks) option was added to the Schedule Manager window
  • Column highlight, order and widths of Schedule Manager and Hotkeys Manager are now preserved correctly between launches
  • Registration of new or modified hot keys is now done immediately instead of being done at the beginning of the minute following the modification
  • Several bugs causing Timer (the background process that takes care of event scheduling) to crash repeatedly by taking up huge amounts of memory and revving up to a 100% busy state, when the user chose the custom repeat option, has been fixed
  • A bug preventing the proper display of the name of a sound in an alert that warned user about two sounds having the same name has been fixed
  • A bug preventing the proper initialization of the helper application Viewer has been fixed
  • A bug preventing the inactivation of an event by the helper application Viewer has been fixed
  • A bug preventing the proper display of icons of cloned events has been fixed
Known issues:
  • Exporting events by dragging and dropping them onto the Finder has not been implemented as yet.
  • Several menu items are always dimmed, as these are planned new features that have not been implemented as yet.
  • Scheduler Help is missing and the Help menu items are dimmed. Updated help files and a working Help menu will be included in the final release of version 6.
